Firewall Braces

Volvo 240
strut to firewall braces!
These firewall braces can be
paired with our strut braces, or used all by themselves. All aluminum
tubular design, very strong and extremely light! Comes with all the
necessary stainless steel hardware required for installation. Combined
with a strut brace these really finish the package off giving a neat beefy
triangulated look to the engine bay.
Available powdercoated in the same color choices
as the strut braces.

"These firewall braces provide
a considerable improvement to the way the car reacts to driver inputs.
Most notably while braking, the car seems to react a bit quicker since it no
longer has to 'dive'. Imagine if the firewall area were a huge pivot
point, and the two fenders were long levers. During aggressive braking
the two strut towers want to pivot up and back. Installation of our
firewall braces cures this.
Ever notice how the best roll cages
have the tubing pass through the firewall and welded to the strut towers?
This is a bolt on alternative to that."

Installation instructions:
These braces are obviously left and right
specific, it is obvious which is which once you hold them up and eyeball them
next to the engine. Install the strut side first and spin on the nut,
keeping it loose. All 240's have the proper threaded hole in the
firewall, most of them are sealed with rubber plugs, pop them out now.
Swing the brace over to the firewall and line up the bolt holes. Using
the long side of a 6mm allen key, install the stainless bolt and washer, crank
it down tight. Because the tubing has such thick walls, my craftsman
13mm socket will not fit inside the strut end because it is too fat, but a
1/2" socket is skinny enough and fits fine. Lastly tighten the 13mm nut
with a 1/2" deep socket. Enjoy your new and improved volvo!
